Had to wait until fall to purchase pellets while the garage was being worked on. Went down to buy Spruce Points, and found none available, and none coming.
Tried another dealer for La Crete's, but he was all out and having trouble getting them.
Finally found a dealer with a 2 week wait for La Crete, and ordered 3.6 tons.
Seven weeks later still no pellets. Was told today that La Crete can't be had.
They did just receive a shipment of Okie Platinum that I haven't burned, but after having burnt regular Okies in the past with good success I opted (upgraded). Shouldtake deliver tomorrow weather permitting.
Hated to buy something without testing, but good pellets seem hard to find.
Got my fingers crossed that the Platinum pellets burn hot!

Did you try SIB pellet warehouse out of Jay ME for La Cretes ? I got my LC's from there, and Steve Barker and his family have always given me great service.

I burned Oakies a couple seasons back - they burned hot and clean, but lots of dust. That's when they came from their BC mill - so lots of shipping and handling no doubt contributed to the amount of dust and fines.

Happy burning !

Tried them a while ago they were out.

Platinums are a nice pellet. I burned them exclusively for years.

Okies platinum's come from the same BC mill as the Okies of old. Only things that are different are they have changed the name and they are now bulk shipped to the Upton plant for bagging. Only difference you should see is less fines.

That's good news as I really liked the old Okies. They burnt well in my Castile!

I burned them last year and they burned fine, pretty clean burning but also pretty dusty in the bags. Overall nothing to complain about unless you're used to 0 fines. I too prefer La Crete though but also were not available here , not on pre buy. I guess they have them now. Oh well, I bought Okie DF on pre buy.

Have em now, they are my first ever pellets. Bought em on the suggestion of the dealer by me, and all big box stores had no pellets. No other pellet I've burned have been as hot and clean as these Platinums. You'll love em.

As I mentioned in another thread, a big problem with certain areas, is the trucking.
There are La Cretes available, we just got a load in. But we have had to wait as well.
The truckers cannot deliver a load to our area, and perhaps in some parts of Maine,
unless they can find a load fairly close by to bring back to Canada...
We get calls every day for La Cretes, and hate to tell people 'sorry'.. but that's the way it is.
When we get them, they go fast..
It does seem to be getting better, however. Which we are all happy about!!

Got a call from Danvers MA... said there were no pellets in his area..
So they are looking to NH... wow...

Well we stacked the 3.6 tons of Okie Platinum in the garage late Saturday.
Been busy cleaning up things outside getting ready for the next storm.
Glad to finally have my pellet stash in descent shape for the winter.
They are burning hot like my Okie of old, an just in time for the coldest weather so far.
Thanks for those that responded!
