Mornin' all. I installed a QuadraFire, oh, maybe 4 years ago and still have 1/2 a tank of oil that was full at the time! The wood stove is a year round project I admit, but I also have been blessed to have friends that "are" tree guys or 'work for' tree guys so the wood usually costs me not much more than my labor.

On to the question: "A different kind of gasget."
The Quad's have an 'air control timer' which is basically a self closing spring timed air timer that vents air into the lower side of the fire box.
Where the timers 'arms' close over the air inlet holes, there is what the manual refer to as gasgets.
Can anyone identify the material from the link below so I can make these myself? If you are familiar with the material and know it is available somehow locally as something else, I would appreciate any input.

For $3 I'd just order me and have the right shape rather than try to cuto out the right size from a sheet of that stuff

Yeah +1 on just buying it since its $3. If its a shipping cost thing then order a few to have as spares. Or check a local stove dealer and just buy them locally

I just ordered one from them last week. I did need a glass gasket as well. They want a flat rate of $13 and some change. I would give your stove a once over and maybe order parts for future replacement?

Thanks folks. I did order two sets of two so I had a backup set. It cost me a whopping $9 and change, shipped.

I appreciate the replies and will look into the ceramic fiber board and see if I can get a piece locally to dabble with. I like to keep 'spares' for every maintenance item so if something unexpected pops up and am ready with part in hand!

Again, THANKS ALL!
