Not going to have much luck pulling anything without wheels on it with a JD170.
 
can you roll them across the yard with some cables or rope like they do with this winch at 3:40 on the tube vid ?



might even pull them that way with the 170 as long as the tires don't spin.
 
My cart does tilt down to the ground, I need to find some way to push/pull the round onto it.

I didn't want to CSS until April, plenty of time then with cool temps and no bugs.
 
How big of a log are you talking about?
Some are about 2' around and some are less, but 5-6 ' long. None can be lifted off the ground.
