If anyone is questioning their stove's heating performance, buy one package of pressed wood bricks and see if that does the trick. Wow, these things pack a punch and put out real heat. Burn a long long time as well. Definitely worth using on those bitterly cold nights if you really need a little extra performance.
 
So you are saying if your stove top thermometer shows a reading that seems too low, these things will help get it up?

Where did you purchase these bricks? A bit to the west of you, over towards Intercourse?

I've own the Summit, so my wood will last six hours with no problems.

Do not use with out a chimney sweep's advice if your stove is fitted with an OAK ?
 
I tried some of those in my stove, they burned great but now my telescoping pipe is too long.:p

Anything longer than 6 hours, you may suffer backache, flushing, numbness sensation and shortness of breath...but what the hey...
 
It's been a fun day, but time to put this one to bed. If nothing else to let the wood pile recover.
