I am considering purchasing a log set for a P38+. How much more maintenance is there with it? Love it? Hate it? Not worth it? I would like any answers on this from real users? Any pictures of how it looks on the stove? Haven't been able to find much of the look?

I had them installed on the showroom floor in both the P units & the XXV.
I think they look like fake logs in front of an artificial wood fire & they were
just something else to clean during the weekly/monthly maintenance.
Not gonna put em in MY P units.

It looks good when new, but slowly deteriorates in both appearance and durability over time. Eventually it just crumbles.

Just put the logs in my harman advance. Pain in neck to open door and scrape burn pot ashes every where. Looks cheese and collects ash

DO NOT BUY THEM!!! PITA to clean, look fake like the guys said, and they deteriorate. Waste of money.
I have two sets for my Quads if anyone wants to buy them! Yes, I'm married! :(

IMO, fake is fake but then it is a Harman

The logs do nothing for the awesome reliability and very low maintenance of the Harman. Yes, it is a Harman.

Hey, tell ya what Sidecar. I'll get you a nice fake set of Harman logs to keep you busier cleaning for X-mas. LOL!;)

Kidding aside all I've read about them is they just add to the mix for something else for ashes to pile up on and another bag of tricks to clean. Now why would you want to pay good money for more cleaning work? That's just me.

So far I've gotten away with a tile in the ash door and I'm leaving well enough alone.

Ok thanks all. I will be passing on the logset.

log set came with the stove, used it a while. After some reading decided to try without it and I definitely get more heat out of the stove.
an oh yea its a Harman.

Fake logs are fine is a gas stove or one of those electric stoves with the also fake flames because there is no ash. Fake logs are just aht...fake.

I'd imagine that fake logs in an ash producing stove would at some point look like dirty snow on a mountainside.....

I think Sidecar put it pretty well. If you think about it a pellet stove is a very utilitarian heat source. It is what it is to a large degree. Is anyone putting pin stripes and gold packages on their furnaces and central duct work? No, but they also don't sit in the living room and just threw that out there for others to see it from a different angle.

Although some stoves are pretty dressed up on the out side (Enviro M55, Quad Mt V AE, Castile, Harmans XXV and various other makes and models and do look quite nice) ultimately they are just a dirty workhorse pig inside. Ugly and mean! I am sure most people's primary concern is that they stay ugly, HOT, and mean. After all you bought one to stay warm first and foremost. Dressing some up is nice and for each owner to decide what they like to look at. That's the same as to why some would buy a Castile and others are content with a big black box that throws heat.

The term beauty is only skin deep holds very true here. Sure some log sets can possibly look decent and make the boss lady happy for a minute but there are no BTU's in said logs now is there? Just my take on it. I like pretty stuff but my practicality usually over rules. Do you think my tractor's sexy? LOL!
