Hi everyone I have a chance to grab LG? Wood Pellets for 5 per bag (250 for a ton). Is this a good price and are they good pellets? I have until tomorrow to decide since there are only a few pallets left.

Thanks

LGs are an average pellet. This year's stash ok to average. I don't burn them but that's what I hear.I think that's a decent price.

Do you have other options? If not go ahead that's not a bad price for a ton. Don't be shy I'm out in western north Dakota and 250/ton is a good price... I lived in upper Michigan and per ton was going for around 300/ton

Yes a lot of options at 330-389 a ton. Corinth softwood I burned a few bags and liked them but to expensive. Same with purcell and north idaho woods. I was wondering if these were comparable since they are cheaper. Also logik-e available which is also almost 400 ton. MA prices are high as to be expected

Have you tried the lg pellets? If not these guys will tell you to try a few bags and base your purchase per ton off of how they burn... If you have had good success with the others well then why switch. If not go for the lg pellets, I hear lots like them, but I personally haven't been able to try them I think for 250/ton you can't go wrong

The white pines? I tried those they had good heat some bags more fines than others.

LG Granules? If so, I burned 4 tons of them last season with nothing bad to say about them - good heat, average to lower ash, etc. $250.00 / ton for them mid-December, I wouldn't hesitate jumping on that - fair deal IMHO.

I burned 3 tons of LG last year and they were great. Spruce. Clear bags, no fines. Very little ash. If I couldn't get Blazers this year, I'd seriously consider LGs. Is $250 a good price, I think so. I paid $269 last year, and heard Southern Maine had them cheaper, but for your area where prices are higher, I think $250 is a great price.

One person mentioned that LG weren't burning as well this year in his stove as last year's, but otherwise I haven't heard a thing. Check the pellet review pages.

[edit]

What I meant to say is that last year's LGs were the cleanest pellet I've ever seen, no fines in the bag, and only a little ashier than Blazers which are the least ashy pellet I've ever burned.

Price seems OK to me. One local seller around here, a garden center, has them . . . at $7.50/bag. Way too high I think, but at your price, why not?

Yes, that's all I burn now...I pay 260$ per ton. I have tried a lot of different ones and for the money/heat/ash.....best one for the buck.
