I have been lazy getting the stove going along with a mix of no one being home to keep it going. Have had about 4 nights of burning. Now my MIL is staying with us after surgery and I can't burn because it gets to hot where she will be most of the time. With oil at $2.90 a gallon I guess it isn't to bad. My major issue is the room where my stove is gets way to hot and that's where my kids play so it can be uncomfortable. Considering instialling a stronger fan to suck more of the hot air upstairs. Anyone have any ideas?

My first fire was in mid September. 1.5 cord since then. 1680 heating DD's in November. 3200 Sq Ft but basement is unheated and stays around 50 degrees F.

Burned about a half a cord so far of soft maple, poplar, uglies and mixed a little cherry and oak at night

It is December 14 here and I think I've burned a cord or so. It hasn't been consistently cold here so I'm letting the stove burn out most nights and sometimes during the day too.

I've burned just over a cord since mid-September. I haven't been burning 24/7, mostly in the evenings and first thing in the morning I'll refresh and let it burn out while everyone is at school and work.

Almost a cord over the last six weeks.

I have only used about 1/2 cord. The problem for me is it is not cold enough of late to run it. I don't like it when the boiler idles i only wish i had room for storage.
