I don't want to reinvent the wheel, but I'm looking for something electronic that I can keep track of how much I burn, and outside temperature, etc. Any suggestions? Thought maybe there's something out there that you guys are using that I don't know about yet.

Thanks

Don't do it. Gather, process, stack, burn. Repeat.

Local temperature information is probably available somewhere at Ellington airport. At least that would be one set of data you wouldn't need to gather yourself. Measuring the amount of wood (accurately) will be more of a challenge. BTUs depend on species too. My brother just keeps track of wagon loads of wood that get put in the basement and the date.

I don't do this because, as you can see, I would probably have a huge spreadsheet that makes me crazy(er).

Windsor Locks is where Bradley is located, right? Close enough to Ellington as Knots mentioned.

Not sure if I mentioned this or not . . . my mother-in-law lives in Ellington (wife grew up there) . . . she lives on the Newell Hill Road between Crystal Lake and "Lake" Bonaire.

Ellington has it's own General Aviation airport. Should be able to tap into that somehow.

The only thing we track is the day we start up the boiler, how many cords per winter, and when we shut the boiler down in the spring. Helps us plan for the next season.
