Red maple or Red oak??

Yup, that there be red maple. We cut and burn a lot of it, grows like weeds around here. It's decent firewood.

I cut up and split a lot of Red Oak and that surely is not Red Oak.
 
Thats not red oak. Just remember this, red oak has a pungent stink, kinda like sweaty butt hole.

I heard it from a real smart old man. Same old man told me "man who goes to bed with itchy bum, wake up with stinky finger". ;)
