harman accentra insert ---just replaced distribution fan. when plugging the stove in the fan turns on even though all controls are off and burnpot is empty . tests lights and cycles work, but cant find reason for fan activation. have not burnt any pellets yet. tried using a new probe, but it did not help. any ideas? update- soon as I secured/screwed in, new esp everything started to work. think esp has to be grounded.

Exhaust fan coming on is a given on Harman stoves and a few others. Safety in case something may be smoldering in the stove. Should go off after a couple minutes.

Could be a pot switch.

Flue I hope. That's the combustion fan or exhaust fan. Yes they stay on for some time and I will stand by my first post, well sit by it anyway:)

it's the second one titled "Harman Exhaust Blower Motor"

fyi; since I blew the 6amp fuse while wiring the new fan (unplugged from wall but not from battery backup, duh) the consensus is my problem is in the control board. the good new is I found a company who will rebuild the circuit board for half price of a new one. the bad news is I have to go without for a couple weeks. (have wood stove and oil furnace backups) the rebuild company is on ebay if anyone needs it or I can send you their web page. they were familiar with my fan problem.

believe you are correct. think it is the Potentiometer. will have new one installed, see last thread, found company that rebuilds them.
 
Have them replace the three main pot switches and test. I think they were doing them for $40 or so. I have a stove to rebuild and have to buy a couple more switches and just change as a matter of course and peace of mind. $5 each

changed them myself a couple years ago, had more solder on my fingers than on the board, worked great.

If its Brunner's bits and pieces they say most boards can be repaired for less than $100. I just looked at the site and say will replace the pots for $40 plus shipping.
 
They have several sites trying to catch pellet burners. pelletblowers.com too, rebuilt blower motors.
