I bought a home with the M55 last Feb and used it with no issues until spring. I shut it down and cleaned weekly with no trouble at all. Normally ran it factory default settings and I rarely deviated from those settings.

We ran about 1 ton of pellets and when spring came the control panel lights stopped working, although everything seemed to work as it should. I have built a rail system and have used it to pull the unit out and look for a fuse that may be bad but did not find one.

I had a triple bypass surgery 4 weeks ago and hope that in another 2 to 4 weeks I can climb on the roof to clean the chimney, pull the insert out on the rails, and do a good annual inspection cleaning. By then I should be able to contort myself as needed to get this up and running for the winter.

I have searched everywhere for a similar problem and solution with no luck. This forum is huge and has tons of information, but nothing about my simple problem. Is there a fuse that will light the control panel or will I need to replace it? Is there anything that a first timer would overlook when doing the annual inspection and cleaning?

Hi, Cmartin, I have the freestanding version of the same stove. If it's not a fuse, then look for loose wires or bad connections going into that board. You said the lights just stopped working one day but everything else was fine, which makes me wonder if the stove suffered a power surge? Do you have it on a surge protector?

Hopefully some of the other guys with the M55 inserts will chime in. All the lights going out at once is weird and may indicate a board problem, but let's try the simple things first. You can always call Enviro if you need to (I can dig up some numbers for you if you want, just send me a PM). Good luck and glad you are recovering from your bypass surgery.

Problem solved. With the stove on rails I plugged it in and used a non-contact voltage tester to follow current from the cord into the stove and all the way to the control panel. There was power at the control panel, but no lights and could not get the stove to start up.

Remover two torx screws on the left side of panel and slid it to the left. There it was, the connector plug had fallen out of the panel.

Gotta love those non-contact testers.

I love those testers, use one frequently.

Good find!

Glad you figured it out. And thanks for sharing the pictures and how you fixed it. It will help someone else down the line.

I just did a deep clean, had the stove out on rails. Afterwards I noticed that while the stove ran, the control panel had no lights. Quick search brought me here. 5 minutes later I'm up and running again.

Thank you so much for posting pictures.

fwiw, the screws are t20 torx

Pictures are worth a thousand words. I try to post pictures whenever I can.

That connector is easy to pull off that remote board. I check mine every time I pull the top cover for a deep clean.

Good Info.
