Im starting to find plastic in my green supreme s the deeper I get into the ton I bought in september. Im also getting alot of puffed up pellets in the middle of the bag. I contacted newp and they basically told me to take a flying leap and let home depot handle it. The plastic in the pellet is not hds problem. After this experience on top of the ash and clinkers ill never do buisness with newp again unless theres nothing else to burn

Sure do, low heat and lot's of ash, weird how people here in NY get the NH made and we get there NY crap. Friend I work with says his GS he bought this fall is better than last spring's, I dont care to find out
GS are far superior to North American. Of course that is not saying much, other than don't buy North American.

Just finished burning a few bags of North American. Totally unimpressive. Yes, they do give off heat but every other brand I've tested does better. Minor clinkers compared to FSU's.

I use them as bedding in my animal cages.

I have also found about 5 or 6 bags of my first ton have had a significant amount of swollen pellets in the middle of the bag.. Fortunately I've been able to catch this for the most part and pick apart the bag for the ones that are not swollen.. Makes me nervousness for the nights the wife dumps a bag in Hopefully won't find much more.. My brother swears by the GS he burns in Harman from the 80s... I won't even by them again.
What do you do with the swollen pellets toss them?

I bought a ton of Stove chows from HD last feb...
in the middle of the skid about 5 layers down was a sheet of ice.
those 5 bags under the sheet I put seperate in the basement from the rest.
each of the 5 bags had some clumps and swollen pellets...
I sifted thru each bag and tossed anything that wasn't normal.
also had to sift for all the fines those clumps created.
still made a mess in my stove with the fly ash sticking to the walls.
In Short,
toss the swollen pellets

I just picked up a 1/2 ton of the Green Supremes from Lowes in Oswego yesterday. This Lowes has a manager that runs pellet heat. All skids are stored in the back of the garden center under the covered part, covered in the shipping plastic, and he has them put the skids on top of another empty skid to get them off the ground more. Then skids that are opened for selling individual bags are located in the store both in the aisle where the stove accessories are and up by the registers, still on their shipping skids up off the floor. I loaded 3 bags up last night. Not one bag had an issue. No plastic found, no puffy pellets and lots of heat. Actually had to turn the stove down from HR-3 to HR-2 since it started to roast us out.

The HD near us stores pellets the same location and same way...
this was during the Vortex last year so not sure how the Ice got in between.
It was a sealed skid same as the others.....could have had a rip on the side or something we didn't see but middle layer was wet and Ice.

Never doubt the power of the Vortex!
That is odd how it would have gotten water intrusion like that though.

I'm thinking there was a rip in the cover we didn't see...
newbee last winter so wouldn't have thought to look the skid over...

Picked up a few bags the other night at the local Lowes. They burned good in my stove. Good heat output, not bad ash. Not bad for an inexpensive Big Box pellet.
