I melt the wax slowly, on low/medium, on a glass top stove in a foil bread pan. Add the sawdust after the wax is melted, stir the mixture with a spoon until all of the sawdust changes to a darker tint, remove from heat, fill and press into molds. By the time it goes into the molds, it's cool enough to press down with your thumb. The wax will bubble up a little when you add the sawdust. Start with a small test batch. Utensils clean up with paint thinner.

I wouldn't make them on a gas stove, I think that's just asking for trouble.
