Feeling the Heat

So I'm always reading about fan speed. On high my house heats faster on low it's stays comfortable but does not heat as fast. In the end doesn't all the warmth come into the home? I know some say that the stove cools off to fast and other reason for not high blasting fan. Would using high at temps be good and turn to low around 500? Like I said in the end all the heat is going into muh oust. Either fast or slow

I like a quiet stove, so low is what I use when I have the blower on. I've only used high a couple times to cool down a too hot stove.

Insert fan speed is a big deal to us insert guys. Because the insert sits inside the fireplace it seems like you do not get as much heat, but using the fan helps to spread it around better.

I know if I can keep the fan off I get longer burn times. I dont know if there are any rules its just how warm you want the house to be. Jim:cool:

If the air is at minimum, so is the fan. If air is open some, I turn the blower up some. But not too much.
Drew, I have never thought about this until your post. My pellet stove insert instructions say to turn down the fan as you turn down the thermostat. I wonder if it is the same thing with the wood insert??? I have not tried this, but it makes sense. Hmmmmmm

Well I tried an expirement last night and I don't think this is the case with wood inserts. My house was 2 degrees colder this morning because I turned the fan down. I will stick with it on high!
