Problem is that most stoves have very poorly designed ash pan systems which discourage owners from using them. I love the ash pan on my Woodstock Progress Hybrid and would never own this stove without one. It is fast, easy, no mess, and very efficient.
I can understand that. I personally won't pick or pass on a stove because of the ashpan, since I can always shovel. But, this is the first one I've had that was almost useless. I've never been a fan of hearthstone pan designs, so it wasn't a total shock. Still Glad I bought it!
It is a fine looking stove.......and at the price you paid, it was a no brainer.
