Finally after years of wanting a stove my wife and I finally had one installed in our 1600 sq foot farmhouse here in Prince Edward Island. We wanted a good stove that would fit our small budget. We chose a Pacific Energy True North stove. We love this stove! We were also blessed to have a reputable installer who lives nearby. He rebuilt our chimney from the roof up (making it a bit taller) and installed a stainless liner. He did a great job. I also lucked out on 7 cord of mixed hardwood at a good price as my neighbor was selling his house and wanted the firewood removed before listing. The wood is at least 2 years old. We live on 8.5 acres with about half being woods. I've been harvesting quite a bit of downed birch and maple (as well as some softwood) to use in future years. I find the True North is a very forgiving stove that is easy to light and control. With the simplicity of this stove, my Fiskars splitting axe and the information gleaned from Hearth.com I almost look like I know what I am doing!

Are you heating entirely with the stove now? Is your place tight and well-insulated? Might be too early in the learning curve to say, but how long can you go before you need to re-load?
