I had a Christmas wishlist item fulfilled this year in the form of a Powersmith Ash Vac. Really happy with the vac so far, better suction, and quieter than my little shop vac that I was using and also serves as a nice space heater while the stove is down for cleaning. ;)

As I went to perform my periodic flue cleanout with the Linteater I discovered that the provided adapter for the vacuum cap was still too big for the Powersmith. Fortunately the recycling bin yielded something perfect in the form of the neck off a bottle of Airborne Gummy vitamins: http://amzn.com/B00CMKE9GC Though I'd guess other vitamin type bottles could be found in the same size.

Cut the top off and the threaded end fits closely in the existing adapter, a little hot glue holds in place and seals it up. The black collar on the Powersmith hose is a very tight friction fit inside the bottle neck. Here's some pics and hopefully it helps anyone else who might face this situation.

What is that adapter and reducer? - Those came with your vac?

My Powersmith did not include those.
