Just wondering. You can get 1" for $9 a foot which is much better than thermopex. Anyone have experience?

Unless your boiler output is low and requires low flow, 1 inch isn't satisfactory, 1.25 inch inch is commonly used. And yes it's not cheap but aside from dry wood, one of the best system investments.

I have a 75ft run of the 1.25 inch insulpex, great product but a little stiff to work with. I see rehau has another insulated pipe, foam/wrap. Haven't heard any comments on it yet.

Be careful Rehau is using OD so purchasing the 1-1/4" pipe will only give you aprox. 1" ID. Logstor uses the true dimensions.

Depends on the fitting? The Rehau fittings I used you had to expand the pipe out first. Not sure on the details, been 7-8 years.

When I was investigating the difference between them, I was told by the Thermopex dealer that Rehau made it for them and they marketed it under Thermopex! Take it for what it's worth. Heaterman swears by the Rehau! Size of pex needed is determined by your run, and how much heat you need transferred! If you don't have a real long run, 1 inch would do. But, if you have the money, the 1 1/4 would be easier on your pumps. I needed 110 foot of underground pex and was going to buy the 1 1/4, though I only needed 6 gpm and the 1 inch would easily move it with my 15-58fc. However the dealer would only sell the 1 1/4 in 50 foot increments opposed to the 10 foot increments for the 1 inch. Wasn't gonna waste 40 foot of $14 a foot line sooo, went with the 1 inch. My brother heated his house for 2 years using 3/4" pex and 280 foot run each way, was hard on his pump, but it worked! Crunch your numbers, they won't lie to you.

Rehau is good stuff. So is logstor. We use Rehau because we have:
A. never had a problem with it.
B: have a good supplier
C. have a good working relationship with said supplier
That being said, I've heard rumors that the distribution here in Michigan may be changing so we'll see.........

Called or nominal sizing is a matter of semantics basically. I think both are metric tube which comes
20MM (3/4")
25MM (1")
32MM (1-1/4")

The sizes equate to ASTM numbers designated for O.D. copper tube dimensions. This is why a 1" shark bite will fit on 1" pex.
Because the wall thickness of the pex is greater the actual ID of the tube is less than copper. 32mm/1-1/4" pex will give you about the same ID as 1" copper.
25MM/1" pex falls between 3/4" and 1" copper on the ID even though it is most often called 1" pex.

1" = .87 inch ID I believe, (give or take a 1000th)

Be careful Rehau is using OD so purchasing the 1-1/4" pipe will only give you aprox. 1" ID. Logstor uses the true dimensions.
Exactly, pay attention to the ID dimensions, buyer beware. I wanted true 1.25/32mm ID and the only way to get this was with Logstor 1.25", Thermopex 1.25", or Uponor 1.5". Rehau does make Thermopex for CB but there is a big difference in the spec. FWIW I can soften the Thermopex and slide 1.25" copper L tube in it.
