I'm letting the oil burner do the honors tonight. I know if I light the stove I'll cook us out of here. I do have wood in the stove ready for when needed.
 
Got off pretty easy up till now. Couldn't last forever.

It's been below zero up here all day. I think the high was -3 F. It is now minus 12 at 7:30 and it will likely go down to -25 tonight around 4am. Somewhat cold......

The coldest I have ever been in my life was Madison / Portage / Endeavor in January in 2004.

Vetted out the mare in my avatar before purchasing, on ice, and with the wind chill it was -25F. She passed, my Wisconsin farm girl as I call her ;)

Took me 3 days to get home, spent the night in Philly due to icey conditions.

My Wisconsin memories, will never forget them, that's for sure !!

Similar weather down here in SE WI.

We are running the stove and I will bank it again before bed tonight - but - I am also turning on the furnace in case the house cools off too much during the night. When it gets this cold I always worry about the water pipes in the basement freezing........... :(
