Newbie here. Can I load the hopper on my Englander Stove while it is running? Or do I have to shut it down before I can open the hopper? I just don't want to do something stupid.

Thanks for your help.

Manual says no! But seriously, I do it all the time, just do it promptly because there is a safety switch that shuts off the feed of the pellets when the lid is opened. And for your next question. Yes you can open the door and scrape the ash out of the burn pot without shuting down the stove.

I "borrowed" one of the wife's stainless steel spatulas, and a flat head screwdriver to knock off carbon.. Works like a charm. And I always load the stove while it's running no issues
