Yesterday I got some log, the guy tall me this tree shred bark few time a year. 2015-01-05 16.43.12.jpg 2015-01-05 16.43.26.jpg 2015-01-05 16.43.36.jpg

Me thinks Sycamore by the bark. I have some I haven't split yet and truthfully I can't remember what the cut end looks like, it's buried in the "to be split soon" pile

Nice conversation, but I'm in position of no choice. I have to take what ever is available for free.

It burns but is not fun to split! Burning some now mixed with maple, White Ash and hedge.

Definitely Sycamore. I have tons of them on my property. Mainly grow along creeks and rivers but do well away from water too. I believe they are also in the maple family.

Outside its like 4 out inside its 75. Outdoor boiler is burning right around 150..life is good

I have a 5500 and it will keep everything warm. It isn't very picky on what type of wood it eats either. Using pellet stoves this year though for a break from the wood.

No its not picky at all fill it up at night and in the morning and maybe a few peices when i get home from work just to get by..., I heat my house and my 28 x 40 pole barn...its nice having a warm wood shop to come home to

Split that into big blocks, and you'll get some fair burn times.
Also good for quick hot burns between full loads.
