ROFL.

Frozen pipes are cool now? Huh...

I could leave the refrigerator door open and unplug it. More energy saved!

True, but they probably wouldn't be needing the clothes all that often. :)

The people who run around like that are usually the ones who should be wearing clothes.

I'll have to watch that closely. About the best you can get right now for thermal emissisivity is Merino Wool undergramets, something I wear when hunting in the winter. A 210 weight Merino wool undershirt and long johns worn under normal cotton clothes with a Thinsulate outer layer provides just as much heat retention as a good down parka and pants at 1/4 the bulk. This nano fiber stuff would make the best merino wool look poor.

Frozen pipes, no issue, just back blow them with compressed air. No worries.

Until you want to take a shower. I like the science of the material, but the writer of the article needs to be more realistic.

I have an electric jacket liner for motorcycling. I've tried to convince my family that we should get a battery operated one for each of us, with a couple of extras for guests and then just keep the thermostat at 45 or so. That would save a ton of money and keep the pipes from freezing. For some reason, they don't seem to be excited about the prospect.

I was going to say, the technology might be great for heated motorcycle jackets. If it does wash out, they could sell the solution to the cleaners.who could clean your jacket and put a new coating on.
