Hi I am new to the forum and a had a question about transferring heat to the other end of my house. My house is a 3 bedroom ranch with a addition/ family room. My stove is a free standing treemont with built in blower. My issue is in order to get my bedrooms on the other end of the house. The family room is like 90 deg. In order to get the bedrooms 70ish. I have contemplated putting a insulated 6 in. Duct with in line fans the get the heat spread out. Has anyone tried this.

I think most will say that it's easier/better/more efficient to push/pull cold air towards your stove room instead of vise-versa. In your case you would be blowing cooler air from your bedroom into your stove room. This would displace the warm (less dense) air to other parts of your house.

I have learned this ever so important lesson this winter. I found pushing the cold toward my stove worked a lot better than trying to move the hot air.

I have a friend that use's a 6 in.Flexible Duct about 12ft long laid on the floor down his hallway around the corner to his Den with in line fans on each end pushing the cold air to the stove area. I could not believe how much warmer the back of his house was. I have an open layout or I'd probably try the same, I thought he had a great idea! His wife wasn't didn't care for the cold air blowing down the hall from a fan. So he piped it and aims it at the stove.
Thank you for the fast replies. So I do currently have fans moving the air around. Do you think it would help if I did like I was saying but in reverse? Blowing cool air from other end of home to the room with stove through a duct ran through the attic? Displacing the hot air with cooler air

You will need to draw the cool air off the floor. Remember all warm air rise's and is at the ceiling.
This is a crude layout of my home. My goal is to make the bedrooms warmer. I seem to have a 15 degree difference in temp between the bedrooms and family room. And I don't think the cold basement stairs between the ends of the house help. Don't get me wrong it's bearable. I was just fishing for ideas to make it better
