Feeling the Heat

The verdict is in! First and foremost a warm felt THANKYOU to Stoves and Stuff in Pa. ( 3 locations..look them up if you are looking to purchase a stove). This coming Wed. our Thelin is being replaced with a Harman p35i insert. total cost $ 416.23. Price difference for what we paid for the Thelin and a remove and install fee, which they also discounted. We are both very happy with how we have been treated from the service end with all the breakdowns, to Ray ( owner ) getting us a new stove. So 1 year and 3 months later they never left the batters box. Happy to be a Harman owner. ( now what am I gonna post? >>

Post the pics of your new Harman. Good to see you were able to work out a deal to your satisfaction....

I went to the one in Stroudsburg and they were 500 more than what the Cozy Barn in Wind Gap wanted for the P61a. The following year I went to them to get an exhaust gasket and they do not stock parts. Had to go to Cozy barn again as he stocks everything. I hope for your sake if you need a part in the future that they do not jerk you around.

Did you check Cozy Barn at all?

Frankie,
No, We have been dealing with S&S from day one ( Oct 2013) with a lemon of a Thelin. Many parts replaced. They got the parts in a descent time frame and replaced at no charge, labor free. They are now replacing the Thelin over 1 year after we bought it and they have always stepped up to the plate. Sevice like that is worth saving money on a product.

Driven by but never stopped in, sorry I cant answer that one.

That means your going to be here a lot less:)

Soooo...35 owners..Ya happy?

Glad to hear things were resolved and I think that sounds pretty fair. It is somewhat surprising a dealer stands behind you like that as they should but many do not do.

You will be s**tting in high cotton now as they say. You will go from a hassle of a stove from what you've said to a hassle free heat throwing machine. I have nothing but good things to say about my Harmans like many others. If there was something I didn't like everyone here would hear about it. I can be cut and dry, but I have nothing that I do not like about them.

Yes I do. The price! That is easily forgotten quickly once you start using one though. Well worth the extra initial layout of cash. Great stoves. Enjoy and let us know what you think. Get some pics up too or the deal didn't really happen. LOL!

Bags,
will do! We are very happy with how we have been treated. Top notch from day one. Photos will be posted..most important will be the heat. As a self employed tile setter for many years my motto was always. " You only cry once , when you pay for quality".

I am a self employed contractor also and am doing my fair share of stone and tile here at home lately. Finishing the area I want to install my PC45 in. Holidays delayed me some and other honey do lists. Been doing all of my own tile for years now on my jobs unless it's just way too much and there's a deadline. I noticed your avatar photo. Looks like slate around your stove?

Bags, Yes slate and all cutting by me..made the medallion with a template I sized and printed. Also made the mantle to slip over the brick that was there. If I could make a living just doing fireplaces I would die a happy man, love the transformation. Great bang for the buck. You need to post a few shots of your stove site. Promise I wont critique your tile work.

I like multi color slate a bunch. I am more into natural stones than ceramics but ceramics and such have their good uses. I run some pretty tight work too because I can be anal about putting my name on stuff. I like cutting and working with wood better than tile. Just my gig. That is a good looking fire place. Nice job! The new Harman will have a nice home.

Happy enough that I replaced my downstairs Whitfield with another p35i, it works so well that my upstairs p35i now just supplements and uses about 100lbs a week in this cold weather!

Great stove, you will love it!

John, Glad to hear you had a positive outcome after all the problems with the Thelin but ... Did you have to get a Harman?;lol;lol:p

Enjoy the new stove. From the track record I see here, you should be pretty trouble-free...

Once you get your Harman dialed in you're gonna have to find a new hobby 'cause all it does is run. Just be sure you have a proper install and take the time to understand how and why the stove operates and you'll be fine. Best way I can put it is that you have purchased a Ferrari and it won't work the same as your old Yugo. Read the owner's manual!!!

He does have a new hobby. It's called kicking back and enjoying some trouble free heat. Of course he will be involved in some Harman flame slinging now too. That just comes with the territory once he's initiated.

but ... Did you have to get a Harman?
Mr. Fortier did his homework! He didn't have to but he'll be very pleased he did. ==c;ex OK, I'll fess up Lake Gal. We are a highly organized violent bunch that likes to keep people warm and happy. Somewhat controversial but a method proven to work. :ZZZWhat goes on behind the scenes is the Harman's Angels an outlaw pellet stove owners group sends local members to shake folks down and force them to buy into our group. >>
