Can't turn off GC60 to clean it

So, this past week I've been burning bags like crazy. I meant to clean the stove out earlier in the week, but came down with a bug. I went to shut off the stove yesterday, for cleaning....and it won't turn off. I can't get it to stop!! The ash is super high (like, I can see it around the firebox), and it needs this desperately. What am I doing wrong? I push the button once...the light turns green. The fan makes that different sound, but it keeps dropping pellets.

I've now turned it to 1, letting it come down slowly. Then, in a bit once the flames are down, I'll open the hopper lid to try to kill it down that way, then open the front window. That's the only way I can think of to do it.

Ideas? It's actually freaking me out some to know I can't turn it off!

The thought of that kinda makes me uncomfortable, since everything I've read says that it will smoke up the chamber and the fan won't run to vent the gases and the smoke. I have not tried doing that.

Edit: Or do you mean unplug and plug it back in, like a reboot?

empty all the pellets out of the hopper.

Ya know, I was going to try that this morning, but my bf came over when I was asleep and refilled the hopper for me (I've had the flu, still fighting!). Might just try to scoop them out somehow. Great idea, thank you!

I'll try that as well. I love this stove, but there are little niggles about it that are starting to bug me.

Yup. The fan changes some, and I expected that. And I walk away for 15 minutes cause I know it will take time. But it's still dropping pellets.

Do you by chance have it on a thermostat, or did it somehow get put into thermostat mode? If so, you probably need to move it back to manual for it to shut off.
