Well I was able to find a pallet of SC's at a different HD and because I never picked up the pallet of that other brand they returned the money and went and bought the chows.

Glad I was able to find them..it's friggen cold lol

Ty to all that replied with in site on the pellets :)
 
I thought Heat'rs smelled odd too - but my first thought was "pine".

Yea, they definitely have some odor to them, although not unpleasant. I too thought pine when I first cracked open a bag.
 
Right after I filled tbd hopper with the Heat'rs, my wife walked into the living room and asked me if I smelled that bad odor. Haha
 
I think they smell just like the laminate flooring I put in my house after it was cut.
I didn't notice any smell out of the bag but when I walked past the exhaust, it smelled like turpentine.

For everyone having sticking problems, polish the sides of the hopper with wax paper. Keep changing the surface touching the hopper to get keep the wax fresh. I ended up using carnuba paste wax on mine and it also kept the hopper from rusting in the off season.
 
Ok, update on my Heat'rs experience. I opened my exhaust damper a tad, added a slight amount of air via the trim pot and lowered the feed trim pot slightly. The results: no more build up in the pot and better heat than I was getting. They still don't burn as hot as others, but not horrible.
