Had my Harmon Accentra insert since 2006, and love it. It gets a thorough cleaning after each season, pretty much take it apart…cheap insurance…
Anyway the other day it stopped working and thanks to this site I did some troubleshooting, narrowed it down to the combustion blower, removed it and verified with a 120 test cable. Turns out the motors thermal overload fuse shows open and unfortunately its onetime use only. So I bypassed it just to get the stove to operate because the past few days have been cold…I know I’m in TX, but it does get cold, just not for very long.
So after some web searching my question is, does anyone know if I can get a replacement fuse, maybe a resettable thermal fuse, does anyone know the parameters for the fuse. Seems like a waste to shell out over $100 for a new blower when the fuse a lot cheaper. So second part is, would this be a good time to go with the Gleason Avery combustion blower, I’ve read that it’s a vast improvement from the stock Fasco. Thanks in advance, and I know the fuse is there for a reason, but I’m putting this one down to being old and one too many start up cycle spikes..
