Can anyone id this wood for me? It is 13%mc, very hard to split but has some spongey bark to it and smells terrible when burnt. I think it's locust.....

At first glance the furrowed bark and yellowish hue looks like black locust to me . . . plus the smell while burned . . . but honestly I'm better at leaf ID.
