anybody using northeast pellets out of ashland. Im using them in my MeSyS boiler and was wondering what people thought about them. I find them very inconsistent. no uniform size and alot of dust. Was thinking about trying canawicks.

I bought 4 bags of canawick a little disappointed there was quite a bit of dust

Yes did a few bags from Tractor Supply burn quick and werent the worst pellets 3rd rate. But had better luck with corinth. Want to try Geneva they sell out before I can get them.

My old Enviro has an auger that'll chew through anything so the inconsistent size doesn't bother me. I've found pellets that have blue dye on them, which is pretty strange. Overall they're okay, I bought 10 bags and would buy them again.

Picked up 3 bags of these Northeast Pellets at TSC in Carlisle Pa. today, to test burn. I didn't open them up yet, but they don't say on the bag rather they are softwood or hardwood or mix. Only thing I could find on there web site was, softwood makes a better pellet, but didn't really say that is what they are using to make there pellet. Not sure if they are a softwood or hardwood. They do say super premium wood pellet on the bag. Posted a couple pics of outside bag. There web site is; www.northeastpellets.net

I'm burning some right now - they do throw a lot of heat. Less fines than the Heat'rs I bought at HD, plus they don't stick to the sides of the hopper like the Heat'rs did. I have enough pellets for the year at this point, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a ton or two. Can't say the same for Heat'rs.

Fast burn but clean and hot all in all Its a decent softwood pellet.
The Geneva was a flop.
Energex is my choice, which goes by a few different names which I have no knowledge of.

Just come off a short run of burning Hamer's, WOW, they were really ashy after running for 24 hours. Use to be really impressed with Hamer's, not so much anymore. Anyhow, cleaned the stove this evening & started to burn my test bags of Northeast Pellets. By the length of some of those pellets, I was expecting a lot of popping to happen as auger would be snapping those long ones in half, but haven't experienced any of that yet and they seem to burning quite well at the moment. Good heat so far, warming pretty quickly in here.

I got a few more bags but all of a sudden Im getting alot of fine black soot and the pot is cloged, suspect its the stove cleaned it and the same

Glad I'm thru the few test bags I had of Northeast pellets. Burned the last bag last evening and overnight. Could not get over the clunker/clinker results, after burning. Only burned 18 hours and left a clunker/clinker in burn pot the was about the same size & shape as a hot dog roll. Glad there gone! Now moving on to a few bags of this year Hamer pellets. Got a few from a buddy to trial. He said they were terrible with ash over previous year pellets. Opened bag and seen why, they are darker in color then previous years. This tells me there is bark in the pellets also. This would explain the large amount of ash after burnt. Normally bark in pellets, means ash in burn pot. Not looking for good results with these Hamer's either. Buddy said heat was good, just very ashy. Guess I will find out.
