I was cleaning my heat exchangers this morning , and this happened. Any ideas on how to fix this ? IMG_3242.JPG

Unscrew the broken end, off the rod, and using some stainless washers and nut (metric threads), re-attach the rod to the scraper bar.

The problem is, that there is not enough room in back of the scraper to attach anything, due to the heat exchange tubes. I can pull back on the scraper but i can't push it forward .

DSCN0605.JPG I beg to differ. There is adequate but tight space. What c$#@ are you trying to burn.

This is the Elena from the kitchen dining area

There is no room behind the scraper bar? Doesn't the L shape of the scraper give some room, where the original fastener was?

By the way...what are you burning...your firex walls look super dirty!! Maybe your stove (inside the firebox, AND the smoke passages inside the stove) and flue needs a thorough cleaning. Do you know how to take the cabinet side panels off, so that you can get to the clean-out hatches on the backside of the stove?
