What about burr oak?

I have read lots of posts about red or white oak but I have a lot of burr oak, Quercus macrocarpa, on my land. Is it comparable to white oak in a stove? I know that for lumber folks it is white oak but lumber and firewood are quite different. There are dozens of trees that lumber folks will call white oak and I am sure they are not all alike in a stove.

I think any of the oaks in the White Oak group will be pretty similar in the stove. I don't notice a consistent difference between Chestnut Oak and White Oak, for example.

Tons of Bur Oak around here and it is fantastic wood. Splits better than other white oaks around here though the BTU's are supposedly between red and 'regular' white.
 
I have lots of bur oak. It usually has more knots than white, but burns about the same. Great stuff once it is dry.
