I've always loved your hearth, Nick. The enameled F600 looks perfect there!

Regardless, you have a beautiful set up. I love your stove!!

Question:

What is your square footage of the area you are heating? My stove sits in a approx 650sq ft room and if I was running it between 300 and 450 *F I would freeze!!
I need to push mine to the upper limit of 650-700 regularly to be comfortable. When it gets real cold I reload at 400.
Could be that your stove has more mass to rediate more heat at 400 than mine.
Not sure.

Might have something to do with the slight difference in climate...your Zone 4 versus his, I am guessing, Zone 7. He must average 30 degrees warmer than you.

Yes, that is a ladder I built to get up into the loft. It is attached to some slides fastened to the side of the chimney at the top so I can lean the ladder up tight against the chimney when it's not needed and then when I lift it and pull it back it stops at the right distance and locks securely in place for climbing up into the loft. We have a queen size bed up there.

This view is looking back towards where the ladder is located.

Here is the ladder in the pulled out position. The holes are handholds for safe climbing.
