I'm in the Blizzard zone...below is my backup should I lose power... Pic is pre cat as I build up some coals - first burn of the night.

TR, no, but the pellets I'm burning do hold their shape somewhat after they burn. Anyone else get that?

I haven't put my stove wide open either, but I bet it gets kind of close on room temp mode sometimes.
 
image.jpg Now in cat mode... Getting lazy and some ghost flame...temps will now rise... Still applicable to pellet thread as the Jotul now cranked, will keep oil off which means I now will keep 52i on all night to get heat upstairs. The 52i is located in open concept cathedral ceiling with open access to upstairs bedrooms. When running pellet, we keep all 4 bedroom doors closed as it gets too dang hot. I usually shut the unit off before bed, let the Jotul die out (coals in the morning) and let the oil take over at 60' setting.

The Englander on level 9 for the first time. Only left up there for 10 minutes. Hot, Hot, Hot

I don't have any pictures of "full burn". It's been over 7 years since I ran it on high for a bit which is setting 8. It's a full blown vortex fire blowing machine on level 8 and is not needed. This stove is a Bixby 115.

The stove is still happily running right now cycling between level 1 and 4. An occasional requirement of level 6 when the temps drop below zero.

Here's a video of half throttle level 4 six years ago. Listen to Obama and my dog was mad at him lol.

The glass is hit but the pdvc still kicks out the btu's from the sets. :)

It's made in Italy I think...
also runs on Progresso Bread crumbs I heard..

Yes, it's made in Italy and smells like pizza when burning. :). Great stove thus far with almost 2 tonnes burned. Expensive though, $5600 installed.

Here's my PC45 running at a fair pace (stove setting is 2) running 80% corn. I don't need to burn it much harder than this.

Great pic jp99. The pc45 is becoming quite familiar. I just need to run mine for a while and maybe make a few more tweaks. I'm pretty happy with it. BTW, my stove is our only source of heat except for electric heaters since my oil boiler decided to quit on me. Hope the ol 45 is up to it. Lol
 
Overlook, a little practice and observation goes a long way and you'll learn the 45 in time. What everyone here says can be summarized as becoming a student of your stove and home.

I took ultra-detailed logs for the first three years. Every stove setting, how much fuel was burned and how often it was added, and inside & outside temperatures. Plus the various fan settings and furnace blower settings. My hopper has a tape measure strip attached inside so I could accurately measure fuel usage. I have lots of data. I found what works and what doesn't.

It doesn't hurt that I'm a thermal engineer for electronic systems :) I have plenty of measuring instruments at home.
