I thought I took good care of my Accentra with weekly cleanings, but it wasn't until I experienced the "left side blowing cold" problem recently that I realized I'd been neglecting part of the snow. When I finally got it pulled out and started poking around with a headlamp, I saw the blockage at the back of the distribution channels (if that's what they're called, behind the dist blower) that I realized I hadn't gotten back there. I ended up bending a coat hanger and poking around with that to get it clear, but I'd like to get the correct brush for the job. Is there one that goes in through the vents at the front/top of the unit? Or is it advised to pull off the heat exchangers to go at it that way? Is there a brush you all swear by?

Sorry no one got back to you ... Different stove than yours but I use a toothbrush, 2 different size paint brushes (one for firex/combustion blower and smaller one for convection fan vanes), dryer lint brush to get up into the exhaust pathways between heat exchanger and inspection ports. I also like a Scotchbrite on the heat exchangers. I have heard of some using bottle brushes, gun brushes, etc. Just have to find what is available and works for you!

I have an older (2006) Accentra insert and use the long-handle Harman brush that I got with the stove. The handle is long and flexible enough to reach all the way through the left side channel til it pokes out into the right side channel. I'm not sure how your 52i differs from mine but I assume Harman makes a similar brush for it as well.
