Harman Accentra insert & upright pellet stoves
Oakanagen Douglas Fir pellets

can anyone tell me what temps they are getting right above both doors with a infrared temp gun. I am only seeing temps in the low 300's. Is this normal ? or should I be seeing higher temps. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, I have a new IR gun, maybe I can help but what does "right above both doors" mean?

I'm aiming the IR gun on the vent right above the front door of each stove and only seeing temps in the low 300's. Is that normal or should I see higher temps?

No idea! But over the weekend I'll check.

Are you running on room temp or stove temp? What heat setting? With my Accentra insert on stove temp, heat setting 3 I'm seeing 200 just inside the dist air outlet above the door. The type of pellets could make a big difference as well.

The stove is set on room temp, set at 70 degree's, feed rate of 3-1/2, okanagen Douglas fir and I'm only seeing 220 degrees on the vent right above the front door. Shouldn't the temps be higher?

There is no set output temp, the stove will deliver what it needs to maintain the deg of room temperature set. The closer the set temp is to actual room temp the less the stove will put out. You're liable to see most anything coming out of the vent accordingly. But always below the high limit of the stove. The real question is is the house coming up to temp ?

How fast are you running the blower??? The faster the cooler. Run your hand over a candle fast. How hot is it? Now, go real slow. Air vs time over the heat exchangers.

300s to me sounds great... I have an Accentra FS and the highest I've temp I've seen come out that vent was around 225.. And that has been stove temp setting as high as 4 1/2. Granted I am not burning Okanagen DFs either though..
