Does anyone else's hose clog or is it just me. Pure ash I'm fine but little nuggets of burned wood will...

Got mine earlier this season and like it a lot. Use it weekly on the Hastings and 2x/month on the P61a. Haven't had to empty it yet, and zero ash in the air. got for $69, including shipping from Fleet Farm. Wish there was a slightly shorter nozzle to attach a crevice tool to as I can't quite fit it in to clean one particular place in the Hastings that my tiny shop vac could get to, but other than that, it is solid.

Been using mine daily for two and a half seasons. The Santa Fe has sliding panels that you can open to let the ash fall into the ash pan. Instead I find it much quicker to just suck up the ash from the firebox with the vacuum daily. No problems and never had anything get stuck in the tube. I empty it every 5 or 6 weeks (and empty the ash pan once or twice a year - prior to the leaf blower trick).

The PDVC is used in my wife's office and used intermittently. I use the shop vac to clean it once the stove has been off a day or two.

No problems with mine. Put to use every week great suction without dust flying everywhere.

My old stove needs cleaning every 2-3 days. Powersmith works great. Overheated and shut down once because the filter clogged. I washed the filter and it's back to normal. It does generate too much static, and could easily take out digital electronics. So could many if not most other vacuums. I would strongly recommend keeping a digital stove plugged in while vacuuming so it stays grounded.

2nd year with ours. Love it. No ash in the house like our last ash vac that didnt even make it one season. The filter rocks.

I have not noticed a static problem

Powersmith is fantastic. Had two of them two years now. That filter saves you a fortune in Shop Vac filters. Dust it off and go again. Haven't even had to wash one yet.

I too have found a lot of static with this vac. However, my pure plastic mini shop vac created lots of static too, so I don't think it is just this vac. Good tip on keeping stove plugged in while using the vac though.

I have one arriving today. Looking for the fed ex truck. Yeah the tip on leaving the stove plugged up is priceless. I probably would have unplugged mine.

Happy with mine. There are a couple of plastic extension pieces that I question how long they will last but they are not necessary for cleaning the stove for me.

Happy with mine. Small enough so you don't have to lug around a big vac. I ordered the extra tools which are a must have. Has made life much easier.
