Used to do the penny trick (actually a nickle) on my fathers straight 8 Packard.

This mans miniaturization skills are amazing.
 
Looks like they are running on compressed air. So will they run fuel if they had a fuel delivery system?
 
Compressed air only afaik. Here is a tiny V8 fuel engine:
 
No sparkalation system for fuel to burn. Wonder what the little air filters were for. Penny rests?

Maybe a cool application would be in the reverse as a quiet air compressor.
