Last week the stove used about 10 bags. With the frigid cold in the forecast, I am sure 14 bags will be needed this week.

Got 50 bags in the shed, 25 in the front porch, and 20 inside the house. Mostly Somerssets and Presto Logs, the good stuff.

Hoping the stash makes it to the end of April.

I am down to a little over a ton left.. I've been picking up bags here and there depending on what I can find brand wise and price.
I've seen Somersets as high as 7.99/bag, Qubex 6.99/, and AWF 5.58/

I agree. I'm down to 75 bags from my original 4 ton. Definitely a 14 bag week.

I figure 30 bags to the end of February. 30-40 bags for March. And not sure about April, but it should be much less.

Now if March is anything like February, then I have a problem.

No problem here, I just increase the corn ratio plus I have a full ton untouched and 3/4 ton I'm working on. This will be a 8 bag (320 pound pellet / 320 pound corn week for sure).

My centtral furnace is picking up the slack this morning. The stove can't quite keep up.......

OUCH! If I see those bag prices I'll be busting wood again. Somersets are $4.98 a bag here and I get 10% off of that price. I feel for the north easterners getting spanked on pellet pricing and availability. I now understand why Tonyray has a basement full up there.

We are getting blasted with brutally cold temps here in KY and possibly setting new record lows today and this coming week. Also getting hit with 8" of snow starting tonight so they say. I'll have a wonderful 2 plus hour commute at 4 AM tomorrow morning. I'll be heading right into the eye of the storm. Great.......

I'm still sitting on 3 plus tons so no doubt I am good til July.

It's every bit of a 2 bag plus day around here now and this coming miserable week of weather.

I have 222 bags left out of the 320 I started the season with.

I'm on 2-1/2 bag days when it's like this. With wind it could be 3 but I may let the central heat pick that up anyway. I'll have to see how bad it really gets. In this house wind direction matters more than anything, N-NW is usually not too bad. If it goes west or especially with a slight South bend in it, that's bad even if just a breezy day. They are talking about -24F wind chills here tonight and tomorrow.

Got to snow blow today, we got dropped another foot or so, some drifts. It's blowing near 30 MPH and the temp is dropping by the hour. Peak wind is supposed to be around noon time and around 3PM it drops back again to the mid 20MPH range. Snow is supposed to be done by then, it's not snowing hard now but the wind is crazy to try and snow blow in..

Don't we just all really want this stuff done with about now !!?? I'm game.

Alternative,

I'm on Sandwich/Mashpee Line....we are getting a straight north wind. Blowing down the Lake right at me. Sucking heat out of house.
On second Bag of Day of Stove Chows in the M55.
Have somewhere between 12"-18" of new snow not counting the 4" we got last night. Hard to tell with the drifting. 5'-8' in driveway.
Winds blowing steady at 25 with gusts to around 40 ish.
Power still on. Coffee Pot full.
Baby Back ribs defrosting...for dinner
Kid playing Vid Games and I'm about to take nap.

Hope all is well in your neck of woods.

Hi Nailer ! Are you on Wakeby Pond ( I prefer to call it a lake) ?

I'm up on 6a near the Sagamore line and I haven't been out the door but the snow is up there. As you say it's hard to tell with drifting ( really drifted in the back yard which faces south).

Oops I got to snow blow, I think the tenant wants to get out, he's clearing his truck.

Sidecar, it probably is bad there ! It will all be nice in May when you are farming and I can go fly fishing, the snow is gone and flying ants landing on the lake mentioned above, with Hex hatches to follow and midges in April.. Ants and midges already tied, got to tie some Hex nymphs.

Meanwhile the P61 is peculating just fine today, still on the mornings supply of pellets in the hopper so not laboring too bad here. The sun just popped out too.

I have 105 bags left in the garage, so I'm all set. I'm finding that the stove does the house plenty good burning 1.5-1.75 bags a day. I can use a tiny bit of electric heat in the upstairs bedroom and bathroom, and it costs no more than a couple dollars a day to get those rooms comfortable during the hours they're occupied. It's not worth blasting the stove and roasting the stove room to get those last 3 or 4 degrees upstairs.

Yepper , looks like 2 baga a day here to, maybe even 2.5 on a couple of days.

Sitting on 43 Heaters in the shed -- 26 AWF White Pine and 6 Lacretes on the porch.

Keeping my open for a ton of good pellets at a fair price to finish this year and begin next. Would buy 2 or 3 for the right price.

Exactly my point in my post earlier that I might supplement with a little oil depending on conditions. Will just have to wait and see. Sometimes the stove does great down around 0 deg and other times it really could use a boost. For a matter of a gallon of oil I'm not going to get all shook up either way ! Now if I had my basement stove I was considering putting in that would be another matter.

Alter,
On Peters Pond.
Didn't nap (lol)
Sun came out and I went out and fired up snowblower.
Cleared mine, cross street (cut thru) and two neighbors driveways.

Just put ribs in.....MMMMMM

Have to get together sometime.
Maybe do a joint Pellet purchase.
I'm down to 11 bags. See if I can find some or burn oil. About the same price.

tonight wind chill -30. I have the 25pdvc already cranked. If i get the house nice and hot before hand it should do okay. I always have the kerosene heater to pick up the slack if needed (extremely rare in past 8 years)

what brands do they carry when stocked?
My dealer here just carries Energex hardwoods and the Energex Golden pellets.0.5 ash of which I bought early buy in the spring.. 4 tons.
of course there always is Home Depot, land of the shoulder pellets..
although scored Douglas fir BLazers at HD which had to be best pellets they ever sold....
Go Figure.. pellets from Oergon here at HD.. Had to be a corporate buyer mistake somewhere.

They carry Energex, not sure which ones, Barefoot, and Country Boy. Wish we could count on HD getting the Blazers.

Ton left using 2.5 bags a day. Hope it warms up soon, Have a heat pump that works well above 30 degrees F.
Unusually cold for this time of year. 6 degrees F for a high today , no sun and a light breeze Next Wednesday forcast is 0 for the days high. Not looking forward to that.
