I have 40 bags of okie golds and a ton of okie DF. I was hoping to have a ton left over... Don't think that's going to happen!

Halfway through ton 7 with ton 8 ready to come in the house. I don't think it will be enough.

Well -25 deg wind chill made me cave in to turn up the oil thermostat. Getting a bit cool in the out areas and the thermostat was knocking on kicking on anyway ( it was set at 69 deg). I just turned it up an extra 2 deg and the stove down a bit in Stove temp Manual. I'll save the pellets and burn a couple of gallons of oil today. -5 here early this morning with 25 MPH winds. Overnight the wind just howled up in the trees till about 2 AM. It's a normal blow out now. Tonight I may go back on 100% pellets , it's supposed be 8 deg tonight and not much wind, the stove does fine in that.

Alter,
On Peters Pond.
Didn't nap (lol)
Sun came out and I went out and fired up snowblower.
Cleared mine, cross street (cut thru) and two neighbors driveways.

Just put ribs in.....MMMMMM

Have to get together sometime.
Maybe do a joint Pellet purchase.
I'm down to 11 bags. See if I can find some or burn oil. About the same price.

Possibly the best midge fishing pond on Cape Cod for really healthy trout ! Those swarms of little grey to black bugs that fly in the air humming ( especially in Oct), those are not mosquito's, they don't bite. Those are a fisherman's best friend if you know how to fish the hatch. Those are midges.

Cold this morning, had to boost the oil heat a bit.

Loving having two stoves; -18 at 4 AM (sure it has gotten colder, just left the house at 5, so don't know for sure) with a -27 wind chill. Coldest room in the house, my bedroom, was 67. The St. Croix was on the last dregs of pellets even though I filled it at 6 last night, so it evidently ran hard all night. Only one other time has it been that low - I'm lucky pellets don't get hung up on the sides like on some stoves as it would have been "out".

Have a little over 2 tons in the basement and 40 bags yet to pick up from local place that I pre-paid for. been picking up pellets from HD thru the season when they have FSU's, so have gone thru probably 4 tons so far. A lot for a small house (compared to most of you apparently), but I'm warm this winter and still paying half the cost in fuel than if I was using propane.

Averaging 2.7 bags per day across two stoves for the month, and about 3.5 for the past week of low temps around 0. Forecast to warm up on Saturday so may just squeek through with my Hamer's as have 16 bags left. Then back to Presto's, where I have two tons in the shed. Thought I might finish with almost a ton left but now looks unlikely. Will have enough, though, and will inspire me to negotiate a better price on Hamer's for next year. If oil prices stay low hoping to pick up a more modern stove for office, with tstat and ignitor. May try to use Whit in the garage if we expand it.

Minus 18 now with a wind chill down to who knows where today and tonight , 40 bags left from just over 3 tons at beginning of Nov. been a straight 2 bags a day now for the last two weeks leaving us looking forward to a warmup hopefully soon . Heading out today to see if we can get another ton to hold us over hopefully till April , Too late now to turn on the furnace

I've never seen -15F before on the thermometer before, but there it is.
Man oh man am I glad I retired back on Oct 31st ! I'd be out in this crap right now trying to get some frozen up truck to run.

Too much ! But I just would like to know if you have winter tires on that motorcycle !

my Dad rode year round in NY back in the fortys. He started riding in WW2 as an MP. He did not own a car until my brother was 5. I think that was about 1952. He raced flat track vintage bikes till he was 74. He is 88 now.

I can remember when the wife and I did Christmas Eve family visits on the scoot. She dressed as Mrs Claus and me as Mr Claus. Nieces and nephews thought it a blast -- Brothers and Sisters thought we were nuts. They were all correct, it was both.

In my younger days used to do a ride to snow on Thanksgiving weekend. We would ride North until there was snow on the roadside.

Course, as the song goes, "I was younger then" , and the wounds healed a bit quicker.

Now, I do not even want to go out in the trucl.:p

No snow tires but do get to run the snow blower a lot (2 hours yesterday) - and I use a lot of my bike gear doing that. If my ex would drop my sled (snow mobile) off, I could ride it around the yard ::-)

Ya I did snow blowing yesterday too. Still have more to do actually. Need to move the vehicles out and do that parking area and my path I keep open around back to access the generator. The rear deck to do. Got an ice jam to try and knock out, it's creating a leak over the access door to the rear of the house into the kitchen. Ice-cycles almost touching the ground there. The good news it's a low access point, just hoping I don't knock the gutter off the house. . I'll do this stuff this afternoon, it's supposed to get into the teens and the wind dropping by then ( maybe).

Another 3-6" coming in tomorrow they say, but I have to think Spring is around the corner !

This cold is crazy. Had to wait 5 minutes warming up the Jeep this morning just for the temp needle to start moving up.
