i have been missing in action for a while as I was working with my dealer while waiting for the tech to come to my house for the 2nd time for the constant problems of my stove that we have installed late nov 2014.
-glass exploded after 1 month
-every day since then unit shuts off with several red flashing lights. 1 red light 4 red light no res lights at all flashing green but still a 20 degree temp difference.
-pellets do not come down to the fire pot and form a chunk stuck that actually catch alight.
-dealer calling me with possible solutions direct from quardrafire telling me to clean the fire pot 2 times a day... I do 2-4 times a day depending on how often the unit shut off and pellets get stuck. Telling me the set the airflow at -4 which it has been since the first visit from the tech 1 month ago. Dealer discovering airflow turns all the way with no stopping on their floor model as well as mine at home... This should not be happening
-quardrafire calling with a generic msg telling me to set the airflow at -4 to avoid glass exploding after I tell them this already happpened they keep talking as if I never said anything.
So the tech came out this Saturday at 1pm to replace the airflow switch since it was faulty. Hoping this would fix the problem at 6pm the unit is beeping indicating its lost communication again. My remote is 10 feet away from the Unit.
I wake Sunday at 530am to the wind chills outside at -29... I live in the Poconos pa and the unit has again shut off flashing red 1 time with the hopper still 1/2 full. Again 5pm last night pelts get stuck and unit shuts off. Again this morning 5am the unit lost communication. With remote and pellets stuck.
I am going to my dealer again once they open but also wrote an email to quardrafire again telling them of all of this as well as the possibility of looking into a lawsuit of exploded glass from a product that was being used for 1 month.
My dealer dreads seeing me I kniw, but for $5000, this should not be happening right??
That's the story so far

Pellets stuck, not dropping and catching on fire

Agreed, shouldn't be happening. Keep at it. What are the chances you can have your dealer swap out your stove for the AE?

Edit, from your second pic it appears the drop chute is getting clogged. Have you tried poking at the pile with the stove cleaning tool to see if you can release it? And does it alway pile up like this? That baffle is removable. Have you ever cleaned behind it and is it seated properly?

Also the model is was made in oct 2014 and pellets have always been if those sold at the dealer which are supposed to be of the best quality.

Yep that happens everyday!!! That why it always shuts off. I have to use the cleaning tool to unclog it and when I do about 2 cups full of pellets come falling down. The pellets are not too big. It works fine for about 6 hrs then that happens. Everyday!! We clean the unit insidw out every week. Nothing stuck behind the baffle. After the tech came out the first time he check and cleaned it said he can't work out why they are getting stuck.

Do you remember how static electricity can make dust stick in one spot? Could there be a buildup and that would cause clogging? I'd be looking for a different stove fast or my 5,000 back. Quadrafire is dropping the ball here. Eventually they may figure it out but what about now? Truth be known if nobody knows why it is happening they need to bring your stove in and figure it out .

There is nothing backing it up. It seems to happen sooner then 6 hrs of the blower is turned up any higher than medium. But then what's the point of owning a stove that's purpose was to heat the space it was intended to beat? When it's -7 outside having the blower in low just doesn't cut it. My rooms upstairs are not going past 62. I paid $5000 for a big unit soI wouldn't have to endure another $600 month electricity bill. But when it shuts off in the middle of the night my electric heat kick in cause it's so cold but even that can't keep up with the temp it is outside.

sounds like the pellets are bridging. Are the pellets very long? What brand? Maybe get a bag of a good brand and see what happens.

If it was me i would spend the $5 for a bag of something else just to eliminate the cheapest possibility. Pellets arent always consistent and the dealer has no control over pellet quality.

There was another post recently about an older Quad that would stop feeding and it turned out the set screw that holds the auger on the motor was loose. You might want to check that. Quads have a spring like auger designed not to get jammed so its probably something else.

If you are still having issues, I would be looking into what other stove the dealer can get you into. Quad needs to figure this out and they have less incentive if people run around and put in makeshift "fixes" - especially if those fixes don't work for the short term.

To much winter to have to wake up cold. See if they can get you any stove installed till Quad gets something figured out. If I were the dealer I would be getting something in, even a plain old Whit to get you some heat. Lemon law would be getting a new or $$$$ money back in this state.
