Hello,

I'm new to this site, but would really appreciate some help from someone who may know. I have a home that a previous owner converted a garage into a family room. Its really nice, and has this prefabricated fireplace. One of the tile/wall panels on the side has a hole in it, and I was hoping someone could lead me to a place online where I can find a replacement fireproof wall panel. The panels are 16 1/2" X 16 1/2" and I just need one so far. Can anyone help me out with this problem? Thanks so much! Hope you have a great day.

http://www.hearthclassics.com (yoder's), and many others manufacture the boards. Also check local fireplace shops and/or chimney sweeps for metal stove boards if your looking for something less expensive. If you can post a picture or better explanation of the boards construction/mounting then we could probably help you a little better.

Hello,

Thank you for the link, I checked it and unfortunately its not what I need. Like you said, maybe if I explain it better you could help, and that would be appreciated. What I have is a prefabricated fireplace, kind of like a do-it-yourself build it in your wall kind of thing...its not cheap looking and its a real fireplace, but it was not built with the house. The wall I need to replace is about 16 1/2 inches X 16 1/2 inches, its on the inside of where the fire actually goes (I wish I could post a photo for you, but I don't have that capability right now.) Anyway, its a brownish auburn color and its one piece, but it was made to look like bricks instead of being one piece like it is...just a fashion statement I guess. I have three of these wall panels/tiles one in the back and one on each side...the right side is the one with the hole in it....I don't know if someone was mad at one point and decided to poke a hole through it or if it was just hit with firewood, but the hole is about the size of a half dollar and I know I need to replace it. I have checked with a local guy who says he is going to cut a wall for me from some material that he has and replace it that way for about $300, but I much rather see if I can get a replacement panel/tile wall in the meantime to save a few dollars if I can. If you know of anyone who builds these kinds of prefab fireplaces or sells the materials for them, I would be indebted to you. Thanks again. :)

Oh the refractory. Go get some refractory cement (same stuff that panel is made out of) from the hardware store or stove store and patch it. You should be good to go then. If you really want to replace the whole panel then get the manufacturer name, model and ser# then find a dealer for that brand. Another route would be to call a chimney sweep who can order generic panels from Sandhill wholesale. Honestly though being that size I don't know that I'd even really worry about it.

Edit. If its the lower right side then it's likely a factory hole made for a gas line.
