My Thelin Parlour will fire up and feed pellets and then after like 15 minutes stop feeding and go out due to lack of pellets, I can then restart and the process atarts all over again ! Anyone have any ideas ?

When was the last time the stove got a good cleaning?

It was doing this the other day so I emptied all the pellets out and it has maybe a 1/2 inch of pellet dust around auger with pellets just above so I thought maybe the pellet dust was not allowing the pellets into the auger, thus no feed no flame, so I vaccumed it out real good and cleaned the whole stove, it worked for maybe and hour then started acting up again. The weird thing is it will sometimes work for a few hours and do this, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 15 minutes, it's not really consistent, but the feed just decides to not work out of nohwhere and all it takes it to turn the switch off , relite and turn the switch back on.

Again, when was the stove last given a full cleaning to include the vent system?

The stove looks for vacuum in the firebox anything the interferes with this causes the auger to stop until the vacuum system allows it to continue. The usual culprits are bad gaskets and the number one on the all time hit list, ash in the works.

Is there a proof of fire switch on that stove? I have no manual to see if there is one that would need to be satisfied in order to keep the stove running after startup cycle like many other stoves. Also as Smokey just beat me, vacuum issue caused by several issues and this stove runs on 12 volt brush type motors that wear and weaken pretty fast.

Fully cleaned, the firebox, ash area, pellet area, clean out tee everything still doingthe same thing, just shut down a few minutes ago again, usually no red light, but I have seen the red light come on 1 time only and it was solid, not blinking. Seems to be shutting down faster now !

I don't know abt. a proof of fire switch, but it must have some kind of sensor, because when the pellet feed stops and the fire goes out the fan stops running. I wiped the fan intake clean like the manual says, I'm gonna try to vaccum it but the intake is very close to the floor !

Have you tried the dollar bill test, wait its Presidents Day, a Lincoln or a Washington closed in the door and pulled out when the door is latched, tried all the way around to see if there is a loose spot?

Get the manual out and try and find that switch. If its very dirty it should try and shut the stove down if it thinks things are not firing. Usually a 120-130 degree snap switch. Common problem with Whit stoves.

So they are using temp probes to a smart control panel. I had one go bad on a 4 year old Hestia. I would take them out and clean them and clean the areas- passages well.
Someone needs to find me a cheap hard drive to extend my poor old computers file space:)

Mine does not have electronic ignition. I looked in the manual no mention of any switch, just says it will shut down if hot, no ignition etc. I assume the mother board takes care of this, but there must be a sensoe that tells the mother board ??

Yes, T1 and T2 are the probe sensors. The Thelin does not use snap switches but instead probes.

A couple of 32gb thumb drives can hold a few manuals or are you on a pre usb system?

That book doesn't just apply to auto ignition versions of the stove it is full coverage.

I need to clean the drive and transfer some manuals to a decent thumb drive. Have lot of pictures of stove repair stuff that sucks up space.

Now there is more that just that tee in the vent system.

I hear ya but there cant be any more than 50 hours time on this stove since I installed it, I doubt a brand new chimney would cloig up that quick ?? Thanks for the link I went thru it and it doesnt say anything abt. cleaning the sensors.

Used stove, in good shape, but worked fine until now, the guy told me it had a new auger motor. So its a used stove with brand new chimney ! Before I put it in I cleaned it real good, checked everything, new gasket, fresh paint.

Describe in detail the vent system and exactly how you cleaned the stove?
