A number of e/w stoves have built in andirons to keep any wood from rolling against the glass . A stove that could be loaded e/w or n/s is a plus if your hearth is large enough . Sometimes ( even in an e/w stove ) loading the wood in a crisscross pattern can be beneficial .........
