The first ton of Smith Creek Supreme Comfort bought last fall burned with light powdery ash but heat was below par. I did test bags of Greene Gold and Indek Energy. Bought a ton of Greene Gold; were excellent.

TSC's in the area were out of pellets. I had to settle for my last choice Smith Creek Supreme Comfort pellets from Lowes because I only had 6 bags left. Quite surprised, entirely different characteristic, better heat and glass stays clean. Require a bit of tending because they do build a clinker. Still not my first choice but I can live with them.

Update---not so improved after all. Flame does burn clean and fairly good heat. Although Green Gold were burning well I had done a heat exchanger cleaning before using Smith Creek Supreme Comfort. After burning a couple of days found clinkers build fairly fast, look like photo's after 4-5 hours. The previous ton of Smith Creek Supreme Comfort had light ash, below par heat and little to no clinker certainly did not create this type of clinker. Since it was all that was available I will have to tend the stove more often and live with them.
