Hi, the throat on the back wall of my stove keeps falling off every time something hits it. Probably warped. Can I still use the stove until I replace this piece? Thanks

Got pics?

I am not sure whether or not you should burn in the stove without this piece, are you referring to a white refractory plate? If so, this may qualify as a warranty item. Mine was delaminating and becoming thinner and thinner, my dealer filed a claim and most of the refractory was replaced by VC. I has happy to hear them standing behind their product with all the horror stories out there about VC. Snap some pics and forward them to your dealer and see if they can help.

I would not run it without the throat hood. Flames will be blowing straight the cat, not good for it.

Second this! Happened to me several times, never operated it without all pieces in place. VC warranties all firebrick so just wait it out.

I don't think this a brick, rather an older model with a cast iron fireback and throat. A more durable version I might add.
