All,

No pun intended but the dog ate my Thermostat.

She ate it right off the back of my VG-5790 and now it doesn't run, lol. So I'm looking to add an external thermostat.

Any suggestions? Seriously looking for a wireless Thermo that will work with my stove. I tried a non-wireless one in a pinch as it's been -11° here this past week but no matter how I hooked it up, it didn't work. Link posted below for the one I tried or can you jumper the Thermostat and not use it?

I run mine on manual but I haven't tried jumpering the Thermo b/c I don't want to screw up the stove ;)

Thanks in advance!

The RF is the transmitter. The REC is the receiver. You need both.

Your shite out of luck, you can not use an aftermarket thermostat with that stove, you need to obtain a replacement from US Stove.

Look in the manual for part numbers on page 22.

Item number 39 (Note: Not shown in the diagram on page 23).

I got it working in the meantime, I jumpered in a resistor. I saw 39 in the manual for a thermistor but it didn't indicate where it was located on the stove.

That's a temporary fix, but don't run the stove in 'auto' mode as the temporary fix will not send the correct temp reading to the stoves built-in thermostat and could cause big problems.
