I've read on a number of threads that these snapstats are finicky, but... I just bought this insert brand new in mid-December (2014) and have probably only burned 30-40 days total. Does it seem "normal" for a snapstat to have failed already? I was sitting beside a blazing fire last night with the blowers on auto, and it just turned off. Works fine on manual... Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

its probably not defective, but may have lots of ash buildup. You can also find the snapstat and push it closer to the bottom. That being said, i found they never worked that well, so i havent used it in 5 years. my fans run 24 hrs a day for 5 months. If you dont burn like that, buy an outlet timer and once you know when your stove cools to not give out usable heat, set a timer to shut off at that time.
