Hi,
I am in the process of building a raised hearth for a PE Summit (on pedestal base) I have purchased, thanks to the great information I've gleaned here. I'm looking for the dimensions of how much the stove overhangs the pedestal on each side (especially the back) to provide the correct clearances. I can't uncrate mine at this point to place the pedestal and get these measurements and the dealers/distributor (and install paperwork) do not show these dimensions. I need this to place the outside air inlet through the floor/deck/tile in the most advantageous position. Thanks for any info you could provide. Great forum!!

The clearances should be considered from the firebox, not the pedestal. The firebox outer is where the manual specs required clearances from.
I'd be happy to get you the measurements you ask for, but I have the insert. Sorry.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, firebox clearances are the absolute rule, but the pedestal location is what I need for my air inlet position. That's why I need the location of the pedestal to the firebox.

Sure, I can supply measurements on the pedestal Summit.

Can you clarify for me a bit please ... do you want to know how much the firebox and its extra air flow metal sides and back, jut out over the actual support pedestal? If this is correct, which pedestal measurement do you wish to use as reference? The narrower top of the pedestal just underneath the firebox and its airflow side and back, or the base of the pedestal that has an extra lip around it? I am guessing the top part?

is this what you're looking for? A picture's worth a thousand words

I didn't put it on the picture, but at the lowest part of pedestal on the sides it is 1&1/4" , slightly shorter than the backside bottom of 1&1/2" that shows on the picture.

Yes! That is exactly what I was after! THANK YOU! As a side note, I just received a similar sketch from PE tech support. They were just in the process of putting those dimensions on paper. The project proceeds.......Gotta love a solid forum!

I am getting the Summit in March. I currently have the Super 27. I'm going to build a platform for the Summit to sit on that will raise it up about a foot from the floor. I can't tell the full dimensions of the pedestal by that photo. Thanks
