Kind of stumbled on the animal bedding on lignetic's website. Apparently they manufacture the 'EZ' brand. As you read their website, they stress that the bedding works well because they dry it to be super absorbent. If you think about it, the things that make a pellet super absorbent are the same qualities that make a pellet burn well. IE: they are drying it thoroughly, only using wood (no bark etc) and compressing them firmly.

Horse pellets also lack some of the additives put in wood-burning pellets to avoid any allergic reaction with horses. Read that on an equine site recently. My son is burning them now versus $8/bag pellets, of which there is no apparent shortage of in his area. Saving $3 per bag ain't bad.
