In my third season of burning, that's it for pellets for me, forever.

M55 has been one failure after another, and my dealer is a joke.

2 stir augers wore through, 2 burn pots, 1 liner

The tube scraper is very warped and now utterly frozen.

The wires from the mother board to the daughter board were damaged, and needed replacement

The daughter board up control no longer works.

The combustion fan is dead

The circulation fan has been replaced.

This stove was supposed to the cats ass. It has turned out to be a big peace of chit.

I'm out

Did you read all the reviews on here before buying it? Seems like there are plenty of folks that got lemons or had issues with the M55. For the price you could've gotten a Harman.

If you bought a car that turned out to be a lemon, would you stop driving. Folks, including Harman owners, will be dumping stoves this year due to low oil and NG prices. You should keep an eye out for a good price and give another brand a try. M55's look good but several owners have had issues with that line of stoves. I almost bought one because my wife liked the colonial look, but I went with a Harman instead. Had a problem with a whining motor that was replaced under warranty so they are not perfect but I'm so glad I picked this winter to try a pellet stove.

You haven't driven a Chevy lately have you;) I know the pain of poor support and constant letters in the mail of warnings and notices.

What you should be saying is you are done with the M55.
I'm really sorry you had so many issues.
Pellet heating has been good to me.
Harman P38 since 2008. Absolutely no problems. It still has the old style mother board.
Even with the now cheaper oil & NG prices I would never get rid of a heating source that is in place.
Greed will ultimately drive oil & NG prices much higher - not if, but when.
I agree with Peterfield - be on the lookout for those folks who are sadly dumping their stoves because of the temporary bottoming of alternative fuel prices.

Even if low fuel oil prices were here to stay, I'd still keep my pellet stove. I just wouldn't use it as my primary source of heat. I would fire it up once in a while when I'm in the mood for a fire. Like you do with a fireplace.

Sorry it didn't work out, Cleets. Don't give up on alternative heat too soon, because oil and gas prices won't stay low forever.

Good luck.

Gas has went up another 20 cents the last week. Will be back to old prices for fuels in less than a month at this rate. The steel workers strike is to blame now as crude is staying below $50

48 bucks a bbl to be exact (yesterday).

This must be a Hormoan advertisement thread ( like it's the only brand thats good)...not. But then they might get to be a rare commodity, the way the factory is cutting back.......

Crude was at 49 a bbl yesterday.

I'd like to be 'done with pellets' myself, corn would be a good replacement, maybe walnut shells......

This thread appears to be a Hormone advertisement, there are other, just as good brands out there.....

Far as Chevy's go, Thats Obama Motors. Not in my garage.....

.............I see now (reading your signature) what it is. I was 'in the dark' previously. Posters assume that everyone knows when in fact, everyone don't.

One tiny positive development, the dealer said he would come get it for a small fee, and within a couple days. Fastest service i ever got from them!

I have the exact opposite view. The biggest POS on the planet is a tie between Ford and Chevy. Toyota is the best you can buy hands down.

My 10 year old Chevy with 250,000 is my daily ride and keeps on ticking
